Tube

A 60-centimetre tube of light that inflates in about five seconds and weighs 323 grams. Two thousand lumens of soft, even light from a source large enough to actually flatter a face — and a solar panel on the back for the days you are a long way from a socket.

The controls are deliberately plain: power, brightness, and a switch between warm and cool. There is no menu to learn and nothing to set up. If you want hue control and effects, that is the Tube Pro.

Who it is for

Creators who travel light and shoot wherever they land — hotel rooms, rented flats, tents, the back of a van. It works as a camp light too, and that is not a compromise: the thing that makes a light good inside a tent is the same thing that makes it good on a face.

What it will not do

Two hours at full output is a shoot, not a shoot day — though it runs at full brightness while charging, so a USB-C power bank fixes that. And the solar panel is a top-up, not a charger: reckon on a full day of direct sun for a meaningful gain. Use the cable when you have one.
